In Like a Lion…

I’m not sure if this cold weather is considered “In Like a Lion” but I sure hope the much warmer weather brings us “Out Like a Lamb.”

Granite Start is bursting with activities. We finished up February with Vacation Week Winter Olympics and the children had a blast!!

Our skating program was a complete success and we will end the session this week with the final lesson on Friday, March 7th.

We have been in touch with a few gymnastics studios trying to set up an 8 or 10 week session for anyone who is interested and we will give more information when we get it. There is lots of fun through out the center celebrating Dr. Seuss’s birthday from Green Eggs and Ham for breakfast to silly socks and much more.

On March 12th we have a Spaghetti Dinner and Workshop evening planned for parents. Everyone should have received a form to register for one of the speakers and they should be returned by March 7th.

We have said goodbye to Miss Kathy Callwood and welcomed Miss Jessica Thompson. In the Infant II room Miss Kim DiGregorio has joined Miss Nicole as the Infant Room continues to grow. There will also be a new face in the kitchen as we say goodbye to Miss Celeste and welcome Miss Apryl.

You all should have received a Pre-Registration Form for the 2014-2015 school year. If you have not yet submitted a form for your child please do so as soon as possible. We will be holding the annual Open House on April 6th as the kickoff to “Week of the Young Child”
and at that time we will be taking new registrations. If you have not secured your child’s space by pre-registering you may be in danger of loosing it.

Granite Start is also working on becoming Licensed Plus through the Child Care Licensing Bureau. Part of this requires the teachers to become credentialed and they are just completing the application process. Another piece is for us to have a Parent Survey which we
are hoping everyone will complete and return. The surveys are done anonymously and we are hoping they will contain honest feedback we can use to make Granite Start the best environment it can be for all of the children we care for.
